Alex Wimmer focuses his practice on a broad range of civil litigation matters, leveraging his ability to craft and communicate effective legal arguments to achieve his clients' goals.

Mr. Wimmer gained extensive experience at a large civil litigation firm, working on high-value medical malpractice, professional liability, and real estate disputes. He was also an integral part of the firm’s appellate practice, handling numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Appellate Courts of Illinois and Wisconsin. Alex has argued five cases before the Seventh Circuit and three before the Illinois Appellate Court, with several resulting in published decisions.

Representative Experience

  • Collaborated with General Counsel of a nationwide logistics and transportation carrier to revise employee and contractor agreements following significant litigation.
  • Obtained a directed verdict at trial for a developer facing multi-million dollar construction defect claims, securing dismissal at the close of the plaintiff's evidence.
  • Successfully briefed and argued an appeal in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in a favorable ruling for the client in Reck v. Wexford Health Sources, Inc., 27 F.4th 473 (7th Cir. 2022).
  • Negotiated a $2.5 million settlement on behalf of a high-level executive in a severance dispute with their employer.

Alex Wimmer focuses his practice on a broad range of civil litigation matters, leveraging his ability to craft and communicate effective legal arguments to achieve his clients' goals.

Mr. Wimmer gained extensive experience at a large civil litigation firm, working on high-value medical malpractice, professional liability, and real estate disputes. He was also an integral part of the firm’s appellate practice, handling numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Appellate Courts of Illinois and Wisconsin. Alex has argued five cases before the Seventh Circuit and three before the Illinois Appellate Court, with several resulting in published decisions.

Representative Experience

  • Collaborated with General Counsel of a nationwide logistics and transportation carrier to revise employee and contractor agreements following significant litigation.
  • Obtained a directed verdict at trial for a developer facing multi-million dollar construction defect claims, securing dismissal at the close of the plaintiff's evidence.
  • Successfully briefed and argued an appeal in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in a favorable ruling for the client in Reck v. Wexford Health Sources, Inc., 27 F.4th 473 (7th Cir. 2022).
  • Negotiated a $2.5 million settlement on behalf of a high-level executive in a severance dispute with their employer.
