Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Elizabeth M. Roberson has been accepted as a member of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy (“HCLA”) Class of 2024.   Ms. Roberson was among 36 class members selected to participate in the upcoming class. She will kick things off in August by attending an opening retreat before partaking in 9 professional skill-based classes over the course of the next 9 months.

HCLA was established in 1991 to develop a pool of knowledgeable community leaders to apply their skills to government, business and civic activities and positively shape the future of Hamilton County. HCLA selects a cohort of leaders each year to complete a comprehensive, 10-month curriculum exploring local issues. After completing the program, graduates are prepared to assume active roles in addressing critical issues facing Hamilton County. Graduates are knowledgeable, active leaders within the various community organizations in Hamilton County, serving civic groups, not-for-profits, government agencies and elected office.

Elizabeth Roberson concentrates her practice on complex employment and civil litigation matters, primarily representing clients on matters related to retaliation, discrimination, harassment, family and medical leave, disabilities, unemployment compensation, wage and hour, and restrictive covenants. Throughout her career, Ms. Roberson has demonstrated excellent advocacy skills in both federal and state courts of Indiana through motion practice, including many successful motions to dismiss and dispositive motions; oral argument at court hearings and settlement conferences; and discovery practice. Ms. Roberson has been recognized in recent years for her many legal accomplishments, including most recently as a recipient of The Indiana Lawyer 2023 Leadership in Law Up and Coming Lawyer Award. She was also recognized as the Young Lawyer of the Year in 2022 by the Indianapolis Bar Association, and as a Distinguished Leadership Award Recipient by the Indianapolis Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Roberson has also been recognized as a 2023 Indiana Rising Star by Indiana Super Lawyers.

Prior to working at Krieg DeVault, Ms. Roberson served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Government Litigation Section for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General. There she defended the State of Indiana, its agencies, judicial officers, county prosecutors, and state employees in numerous civil litigation matters. Ms. Roberson obtained her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Indiana and Illinois.
