Partner Brian M. Heaton Elected to Krieg DeVault’s Executive Committee

Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that the firm has elected long-time Partner Brian M. Heaton to serve on the firm’s 5-member Executive Committee. Mr. Heaton’s two-year term begins January 1, 2023. He replaces Partner John Baxter who previously served six years on the firm’s leadership team. Krieg DeVault’s Executive Committee is responsible for leading the efforts of the firm to deliver exceptional client service as a diverse and inclusive team while always exemplifying the firm’s CORE Values of Commitment, Ownership, Respect, and Excellence.
During Mr. Heaton’s 15-year career at Krieg DeVault, he has been active in several firm leadership positions. In addition to his Executive Committee duties, Mr. Heaton currently serves as Chair of the firm's Business Practice where he leads a large team of attorneys responsible for providing business, acquisitions, and securities counsel to the firm’s clients.
In addition to his Business Practice, Mr. Heaton is a long-time member of the firm's Health Care Practice. Mr. Heaton’s practice concentrates on providing general corporate and business law advice and assisting start-up and established businesses across multiple industries with everyday operations and extraordinary transactions, including representing both sellers and purchasers in complex transactions involving stock and asset sales, mergers, dissolutions, joint ventures, affiliations, licensing arrangements, and other restructurings. Mr. Heaton’s health care experience includes representing health care provider organizations, including hospitals, physicians, physician groups (including in the fields of radiology, oncology, orthopedics, OBGYN, urology, podiatry, and general practice), ambulatory surgery centers, long-term care facilities and hospital-physician partnerships.
Mr. Heaton is active in numerous professional organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Indiana chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), as President of the Board of Directors of the Westfield Library Foundation, and as a member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).
