Brooke Smith Joins Krieg DeVault’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice

Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Brooke Smith has joined the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Ms. Smith is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience representing individuals, closely held companies, and complex organizations in high‑stakes disputes in state and federal courts.
Ms. Smith’s practice spans a broad range of complex litigation matters, including business torts, commercial disputes, civil rights matters, and foreign discovery actions brought under 28 U.S.C. § 1782. She also routinely represents clients in employment-related litigation involving discrimination, restrictive covenants, and wage and hour disputes, as well as tort and insurance coverage matters. Ms. Smith has significant trial experience and has represented parties in numerous jury and bench trials in Indiana state courts and federal courts, guiding matters through settlement or final judgment with strategic focus and clarity.
In addition to her trial-level work, Ms. Smith maintains a robust appellate practice. She has represented clients in more than fifty appeals before the Indiana Court of Appeals, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Her experience across interconnected areas of litigation enables her to navigate complex, multifaceted disputes while delivering practical, results-driven counsel.
Ms. Smith earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and her B.A. from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. She is admitted to practice in Indiana, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
