Krieg DeVault Expands Chicago Office with Financial Services Partners Laurie A. Martin Montplaisir and Parker E. Lawton

Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that the firm continues to grow its Chicago office with the addition of financial services attorneys Laurie A. Martin Montplaisir and Parker E. Lawton. Montplaisir and Lawton, who both join the firm as Partners, have strong reputations in the commercial finance area and extensive experience handling secured finance and alternative lending transactions.
Montplaisir brings over 20 years of financial services experience to the firm. She has comprehensive knowledge and legal experience in factoring, asset-based lending, commercial lending, loan restructuring and workout and securitizations. Montplaisir advises clients across the United States. She is the Founder of the International Factoring Association (IFA) Midwest Chapter established October 2018. She often is a lecturer for the IFA, conducting webinars and seminars, and participating as a legal moderator at conferences.
With prior experience co-managing a private equity investment company, Lawton brings unique skills to the firm. He advises businesses through a variety of legal challenges associated with secured lending, commercial finance, corporate structuring, governmental regulation, and employment issues. He has experience representing companies in the factoring industry. While Lawton’s practice focuses on transactional representation, he also has substantial litigation experience.
