Krieg DeVault Expands Real Estate and Environmental Practice

Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has significantly bolstered its Real Estate and Environmental Practice with the addition of commercial real estate attorneys Donald J. Smith and Stephanie J. Truchan, both previously with the law firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC (formerly Katz Korin Cunningham, PC). Smith, who joins the firm as a Partner, and Truchan, who joins as Associate, will be integral pieces in continuing to grow one of the firm’s most prominent practices.
Smith brings 17 years of commercial real estate and lending experience to the firm. He has represented his real estate clients — local and national — in all aspects of real estate development, handling projects from “dirt to disposition.” He has represented both tenants and landlords in commercial leasing transactions and litigation. Don represents lenders on construction and permanent real estate financing as well as commercial lending. Additionally, he acts as outside general counsel for many of his entrepreneurial clients, advising them on all legal aspects of their businesses, including succession and estate planning.
With her background in urban planning, Truchan is in a unique position to identify what it takes to successfully close a deal. Stephanie routinely assists real estate developers with stakeholder engagement strategies and has experience advocating before planning boards and other government bodies. She focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including development, financing, acquisitions, dispositions, as well as land use and zoning matters. In addition to her real estate practice, she advises small business clients on entity formation, structure, organization, and succession and estate planning.
