Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Partner Libby Yin Goodknight has recently been elected to another 3-year term to serve as a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Indiana Legal Foundation (ILF). Ms. Goodknight is Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice.

The ILF is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Indiana businesses. The ILF gets involved in legal cases impacting Indiana businesses on a wide range of issues and policy matters involving product liability, taxation, labor relations, worker's compensation, unemployment benefits, insurance issues, and environmental regulation, to name a few.

The Foundation's Legal Advisory Committee - which includes attorneys and the heads of major business trade associations such as the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Manufacturers Association - evaluates requests to submit amicus curiae briefs in appeals having broad implications for Indiana businesses. Members of the Legal Advisory Committee have submitted many amicus curiae briefs to the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court over the years, lending a voice to Indiana businesses in the state’s appellate courts.

In addition to serving as Chair of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice, Ms. Goodknight handles a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including shareholder and other business disputes; covenants not to compete; trade secret enforcement; financial institution liability; trust and estate litigation involving corporate fiduciaries; constitutional claims; government contracting and bidder disputes; administrative agency actions; and class and collective actions, including those involving wage and hour issues and bank fees. She has served as counsel in jury trials involving questions of negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and toxic exposure. The cases in which she has been engaged touch on a number of industries, including general corporate, health care, and financial services.  She is also a long-time member and previous Chair of the Professional Personnel Committee. She has been active in firm management, having served three consecutive terms on the firm's five-member Executive Committee.
