Meghan M. Linvill McNab concentrates her practice in the area of Medicare and Medicaid program reimbursement and compliance matters. Ms. McNab represents a variety of health care providers in areas including Medicare and Medicaid program reimbursement, Medicaid reform initiatives, regulatory compliance, licensure and survey actions, and various other regulatory issues. Ms. McNab also has significant experience counseling hospitals and nursing facilities on Intergovernmental Transfers and Upper Payment Limit programs for Medicaid reimbursement, as well as experience with structuring transactions for compliance with these programs. Prior to counseling the firm's Health Care clients, Ms. McNab was a senior healthcare consultant working in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and cost reporting.
In addition to being an attorney, Ms. McNab is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Representative Experience
- Assisted providers regarding Medicare and Medicaid billing and reimbursement issues, including upper payment limit programs, mental health billing and reimbursement, cost reporting and appeals.
- Represented and advised clients regarding administrative appeals relating to rate changes, audit findings, and survey results.
- Worked with clients on various provider licensure, certification and enrollment matters.
- Advised and assisted providers regarding change of ownership mechanisms and reporting requirements.
- Represented and advised clients regarding audits, surveys, and investigations initiated by licensing and certification bodies.
- Counseled hospitals on regulatory and accreditation compliance matters, including reviewing and revising Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies.
- Assisted providers with developing plans of correction and responses to licensure and complaint surveys.
- Assisted providers with respect to their policies regarding the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) and compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Counseled providers on compliance with the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and the False Claims Act.
- Advised providers on reimbursement mechanisms and programs available under the Affordable Care Act and its implementing regulations.
- Reviewed and negotiating contracts for hospitals, nursing facilities and independent providers of all types.
