Indianapolis, Indiana - Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that Brett J. Ashton has joined the firm in an Of Counsel capacity.

Mr. Ashton, most recently employed with American International Group (AIG) as their Assistant General Counsel of State Relations, will become a member of the firm's Governmental Affairs Practice. He will represent Krieg DeVault as a key member of the firm's legislative and executive branch lobbying team focusing on the financial services industry.

A graduate of Ball State University and the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, Mr. Ashton served as a representative for legislative and regulatory interest of all AIG companies in a mid-west three state region where he was responsible for working directly with Governors' offices, key legislatures and decision-makers to accomplish strategic state legislative and political initiatives for AIG. Additionally, Mr. Ashton was also responsible for managing and policy development for AIG's multi-billion dollar consumer lending operations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Mr. Ashton resides in Indianapolis, Indiana and will work from the firm's Indianapolis headquarters.
