Libby Yin Goodknight named to 2019 Top 25 Women Attorneys Listing by Indiana Super Lawyers

Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Super Lawyers has named Partner and Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups Libby Yin Goodknight as a 2019 Top 25 Woman Attorney in the State of Indiana.  Super Lawyers is an annual service that rates outstanding lawyers within their discipline of practice.  The selection process consists of statewide nominations, peer evaluations and independent research performed by representatives at Super Lawyers.  The Indiana lawyers who receive the highest point totals during this selection process are further recognized in Indiana Super Lawyers Top Lists.

Ms. Goodknight, who was recognized for her outstanding work in the area of Business Litigation, has been named to the Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars or Indiana Super Lawyers listing since 2009.   Goodknight is joined at Krieg DeVault by an additional 18 attorneys named to the 2019 Indiana Supers Lawyers listing, and an additional 11 attorneys named to the Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars listing, which is designated for attorneys under the age of 40 or attorneys who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

Libby Yin Goodknight is Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups. Ms. Goodknight has versatility in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including shareholder, contract, and other business disputes; covenants not to compete; trade secret enforcement; financial institution liability; trust and estate litigation involving corporate fiduciaries; antitrust issues; RICO; securities fraud; constitutional claims; government contracting and bidder disputes; administrative agency actions; and class and collective actions, including those involving wage and hour issues and bank overdraft charges. She has served as counsel in jury trials involving questions of negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, RICO violations, and toxic exposure. The cases in which she has been engaged touch on a number of industries, including general corporate, health care, and financial services.

Ms. Goodknight previously clerked for the Honorable James S. Kirsch, the Honorable Sanford M. Brook (ret.), and the Honorable Edward W. Najam, Jr. of the Indiana Court of Appeals. She has assisted clients with appeals in state and federal courts across the country and in the U.S. Supreme Court. She has represented amicus curiae parties before the Indiana appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court as well. Ms. Goodknight is a member of the Executive Committee and past Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association and serves on the Legal Advisory Committee to the Indiana Legal Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates for the Indiana business community on significant legal issues pending in the appellate courts. Her experience and insight as a former Indiana Court of Appeals clerk, and her active involvement in the Indiana appellate bar, make her well-positioned to guide national and regional law firms in need of local appellate counsel in this State. Her passion for creative legal analysis and persuasive writing make her a key contributor to any litigation team where resolution of the dispute turns on motion practice, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and trial briefing.
