Krieg DeVault LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Cassie A. Nielsen has joined the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Ms. Nielsen is a seasoned construction and commercial litigator with extensive experience representing contractors, design professionals, owners, and businesses in high‑stakes disputes across Indiana and beyond.
Ms. Nielsen’s practice focuses on complex construction and commercial litigation, including claims involving defective construction, design deficiencies, lien and bond disputes, and breach of contract and warranty matters arising from both public and private projects. She regularly advises clients on litigation strategy and contract negotiation and brings significant experience counseling businesses on contracting, licensure, and entity formation. Her background also includes representing regional and national clients in disputes involving bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, secured transactions, and multifaceted commercial contracts.
Ms. Nielsen has secured multiple substantial trial judgments across a broad range of construction and commercial matters, including preference action victories, significant breach of contract recoveries, and damages awards in defective construction and Article 9 sale disputes. In addition to her litigation practice, she is an active contributor to the legal community, frequently presenting and writing on construction claims, collections, and statutory frameworks impacting dispute resolution.
Ms. Nielsen earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science and Government, cum laude. She is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
