Rob Schein chairs the firm’s Construction Law Practice. He concentrates his practice in construction law, municipal and governmental law, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, real estate and commercial litigation. Mr. Schein has been involved in a wide range of representation of owners and contractors in construction projects, including complex litigation matters, acceleration and delay claims, mechanic’s lien cases and public project claim cases, as well as breach of contract matters.  Mr. Schein counsels owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and designers in matters and issues relating to construction projects, with particular emphasis in contract dispute resolution and litigation matters.  He also assists clients in drafting and negotiating construction and commercial contracts involving public and private projects.

Mr. Schein has extensive experience in representing municipal and governmental clients in all areas of municipal and governmental law, including cities, towns, redevelopment commissions, plan commissions, and other governmental entities. Mr. Schein has further represented creditors and investors in creditor/debtor litigation, foreclosure matters and in bankruptcy cases throughout the United States. Mr. Schein has provided guidance and counsel to businesses involving general corporate and reorganization matters. He has been involved in numerous transactions involving operations, distribution, sales of goods and services and other general business matters.

  • Counsel to owners and contractors in connection with claims involving delay, acceleration and defect matters
  • Counsel to numerous owners, contractors and construction managers in connection with review, analysis of construction agreements, negotiation of the same, general representation involving construction projects, corporate matters and litigation
  • Counsel to cities, towns, redevelopment commissions and other governmental entities in all facets of governmental law and development projects
  • Successfully represented steel fabricator in claim for additional damages involving state university project
  • Successfully represented manufacturer of curtain walls in defense of acceleration claim involving state public works project
  • Represented owner involving negotiation of construction contracts for an ethanol plant in excess of $110,000,000
  • Counsel for several financial institutions in connection with foreclosure matters, receiverships and litigation
  • Counsel for numerous clients involving bankruptcy cases in Indiana and throughout the United States
  • Indiana Counsel for lender involving a significant automotive supplier bankruptcy case
  • Indiana Counsel for company involving a bankruptcy matter in Baltimore, Maryland and recovery of software intellectual property
