Glenn T. Troyer

Partner - Retired

Glenn Troyer is a retired as a Partner from Krieg DeVault in 2012.  Glenn had more than 35 years of experience in providing legal representation to hospitals, physicians, mental health centers, nursing facilities, and other healthcare providers in business transactions, health law matters, and compliance-related issues.  Immediately following his retirement, he concentrated his professional time as a Health Care consultant with Integrity Health Strategies.  Mr. Troyer is now retired from the practice of law. 

Mr. Troyer wrote numerous articles and gave numerous presentations on health law and risk management issues. He was a founding director and a past President of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (an affiliated professional society of the American Hospital Association) and now contributes to its publications. He is was editor of the Fifth Edition (published in 2006) and the Sixth Edition (published in 2010), “Risk Management Handbook for Healthcare Organizations, Volume 3: Business Risks (Legal, Regulatory and Technology Issues),” and the author of a corporate compliance chapter entitled, Corporate Compliance-A Risk Management Framework in that same publication. Mr. Troyer co-authored chapters in the Third and Fourth Editions of the “Risk Management Handbook for Healthcare Organizations,”and also co-authored and co-edited the 1986 Aspen publication book entitled, “Handbook of Health Care Risk Management.”

Also, Mr. Troyer was the founding Director and is a Member of the Indiana Society for Health Care Risk Management.  He is a past chair of the Physician Recruitment Task Force of the American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, which published the “Physician Recruitment and Retention Guidebook”.  Also, he co-authored the St. Christopher Corporate Compliance Manual and the HIPAA Compliance Manual.

Prior to entering private law practice, he served in various administrative capacities in hospital settings at Rush Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois, the Marion County General Hospital of Community Mental Health Center, Indianapolis, Indiana; Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, Ohio; and Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana; the latter at which he served as General Counsel and Director of Risk Management.
