Partner Leah S. Mannweiler Receives 2018 Richard M. Fairbanks Circle of Hope Award

Krieg DeVault is pleased to announce that Partner Leah S. Mannweiler recently received the 2018 Richard M. Fairbanks Circle of Hope Award for her commitment to and for making outstanding contributions to the field of addictions. The award ceremony was held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown on Thursday, April 26, 2018 and was part of Fairbanks’ Annual Circle of Hope Dinner featuring keynote speaker Ryan Leaf, and guest speaker, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. The Fairbanks Circle of Hope Dinner raised approximately $266,000 with proceeds to be used for patient assistance at Fairbanks. Ms. Mannweiler has served on both the Fairbanks Hospital and Hope Academy Boards, and as a volunteer for nearly two decades. She is the immediate previous Chair of the Hope Academy Board, which is Fairbanks’ tuition-free, public charter recovery high school. In these roles, she has been instrumental in securing funding for and impacting programming.
Fairbanks is a nonprofit alcohol and drug treatment center and was established in 1945 in a house on Alabama Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. Fairbanks is one of the oldest independent alcohol and drug treatment centers in America serving men, women, adolescents and their families who struggle with addiction from not only the Midwest but from around the United States. Fairbanks strives to be the leader in treating addiction, supporting life-long recovery, and collaborating with others to promote health and well-being.
About Leah Mannweiler Leah Mannweiler practices in the areas of health care, human services and governmental relations. Ms. Mannweiler previously served for four years as the Executive Assistant for Health and Human Services to the Governor of Indiana and also served for six years as the Supervising Deputy Prosecutor of the Child Support Division in Marion County, Indiana, where her program won national recognition for its reorganization and twelve-fold increase in child support collections. She devotes a large part of her practice to representing health care providers in Medicaid reimbursement issues, with particular concentration in Medicaid reimbursement for mental health providers, hospitals and health services serving disproportionate numbers of low-income and uninsured patients. She is also a Sagamore of the Wabash and has been selected by her peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers of America in the practice of health care law for the past eleven years.
