Thomas R. Neal
Tom Neal is the Chair of the firm's Health Care Practice Group. Mr. Neal's practice concentrates on strategic, corporate, organizational and management matters for physician practices, hospitals and various forms of health care provider organizations. He is a former Deputy Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana. Mr. Neal also served as general counsel for The Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County. He serves as counsel for hospitals, organized hospital medical staffs and a variety of physician practices, networks and physician-hospital organizations. Mr. Neal is a past Chairman of the Health Care and Medicine Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and is a frequent speaker on physician practices and managed care issues for the Indiana State Medical Association. He is the author of numerous articles on law and medicine.

- Represented hospital in acquisition of large multi-specialty physician group with many ancillary businesses
- Represented large physician group in sale of assets to hospital and subsequent employment of physicians within health system
- Organized and represented several ambulatory surgery centers, multi-specialty and single-specialty, joint ventured with hospitals and free-standing physician companies, organized as under arrangements, provider-based and free-standing facilities
- Organized and represented a variety of managed care contracting organizations, PHOs, IPAs and MSOs, represented PHOs and physician organizations in managed care contracting involving financially integrated and clinically integrated systems
- Represented physician group of significant size in merger with another medical group
- Represented both hospitals and medical groups in joint ventured ancillary businesses
- Represented academic professionals in creating faculty practice plan
- General representation of municipal hospital system and community mental health center
