Robert A. Anderson represents health care providers in all aspects of health care law from general agreements and contracts to advice regarding compliance with fraud and abuse laws and regulations.  In addition, he defends health care providers in medical malpractice litigation. Finally, he has litigated property tax exemptions for not-for-profit institutions. Mr. Anderson serves on the firm's Executive Committee, where he is involved in the firm's daily business decisions and client initiatives.

  • Routinely provides general counsel advice to several hospital clients on issues ranging from compliance with federal healthcare law to workplace violence restraining orders
  • Prevailed in a property tax exemption appeal to the Indiana Tax Court on behalf of a not-for-profit nursing home in Wittenberg Lutheran Village Endowment Corp. v. Lake County Property Tax Assessment Bd. Of Appeals (Ind. Tax Ct.)
  • Prevailed in securing exempt status before the Indiana Board of Tax Review for hospital-owned physician offices. St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers, Inc. v. Lake County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals (Ind. Bd. Tax Review)
  • Counsel of Record in published opinions National Engineering & Contracting Co., Inc., v. C & P Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Inc., (Ind. App.) and Indiana American Water Company, Inc., v. Town of Seelyville, (Ind. App.)
  • Obtained a defense verdict for a hospital client and its emergency department physician involving the unexpected death a 14 year old patient
