Michael Schmidt is member of the Business, Commercial Lending & Real Estate, and Real Estate Practice Groups. Mr. Schmidt concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate law, real estate, health care, and title insurance litigation. Mr. Schmidt also has experience in real estate leases, new business formation, commercial lending, commercial arbitration and mediation, contract negotiations and general corporate matters.

Prior to entering the full time practice of law, Mr. Schmidt worked as a cost analyst for two publicly traded companies.

Representative Experience

• Assisted in the documentation and closing of an asset sale of sixteen related business entities in the amount of a $35 million.
• Assisted in the negotiation and drafting of leasing agreements for large medical real estate development.
• Assisted in the negotiation and drafting of leasing agreements for large retail developments.
• Assisted in the negotiation and drafting of leasing agreements for commercial properties.
• Represented title insurance companies on claims disputes in Indiana and Michigan.
• Assisted in the negotiation and documentation of ground lease for experimental environmental research facility.
