Jane E. Harrison
Jane Harrison is a member of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration, and Tax Practice Groups. She assists with the calculations and analyses required in the wealth transfer planning of large estates, and with the drafting of estate planning documents for all estates regardless of size. She assists with the administration of all-sized estates, working closely with clients throughout the process. Ms. Harrison's assistance in the tax practice group is primarily in the preparation of federal and state death tax returns, and gift tax returns. Jane also assists the firm’s attorneys licensed to practice in Florida with the estate planning and administration needs of the firm’s Florida resident clients.
Ms. Harrison has worked in the area of Estate Planning and Administration, and Tax for Krieg DeVault for over 35 years.
Representative Experience
- Analysis of client’s estate plan, including summary of plan, valuation of estate assets, preparation of death tax projections and estate plan flow chart.
- Document drafting for estate planning clients, including wills, trusts, living will, general powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney.
- Calculation of gift amount and tax savings for client’s lifetime gifts to trusts such as qualified personal residence trusts and grantor retained annuity trusts.
- Preparation of all court filings necessary to open, administer and close estate, preparation of federal and Indiana death tax returns, preparation of estate accountings, preparation of documentation necessary to transfer estate’s real and personal property to beneficiaries, assist with audits of death tax returns.
- Participation in postmortem death tax planning, including analysis of death tax savings and document drafting.
- Preparation of gift tax returns.
- Preparation of estate planning documents, estate administration documents, and real estate transfer documents for Florida resident clients.
