Derek W. Meeker

Derek Meeker is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology Practice and concentrates his practice in the area of patents and trademarks.

With more than 7 years counseling experience in the patent and trademark field, Mr. Meeker has prepared and prosecuted patent applications covering technologies including telecommunication and networking systems, testing and measuring instrument hardware and user interfaces, computer peripherals, printing and imaging devices, display devices, lighting control systems, RF power amplifiers, remote data storage systems, memory devices, and semiconductor fabrication.

Mr. Meeker has also supervised foreign prosecution cases while recommending cost effective foreign portfolio strategies.

Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Meeker spent 7 years as an electrical engineer for various noted United States corporations, including Corvis Corporation.
